I'm redoing my home mastering setup and was pondering if a mini mac would be a clever in a mastering setup. And if there is anyone out there using a mini mac for that kind of work? I'm kind of new to the mac world so excuse my silly questions

hey all the stuff i found on the internet kinda seems like you have to hack your computer, which i don't want to do. wondering if they're is a resonable way to install mac OS on a toshiba intel core 2 dual (1.6) running windows xp. I've started to use Digital Performer down at the studio, and would like to practice with it on my home laptop. Thanks.

Has anyone tried the Mac mini for recording yet? This thing looks pretty awesome for a mobile recording rig.

Maybe they could come up with their own computer this time round. They might as well so they control the entire program.

But maybe the new CP will do a lot more with less. Maybe its going another direction sooner than we think. Maybe PC is looking better and Better.Somethings brewing, that's for sure.

I can buy this used, but I'm wondering if it will work well with Logic Pro 9 on Snow Leopard? I will use quite some effects and (of course) many tracks on my songs)

iMac 2008
2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
500GB (don't know, but I assume it is 7200rpm)

Any suggestions? I only need it for one thing and that is have an input for my Turntable, nothing else.

I'm running an old dual 2.7 Power Mac G5 and looking to upgrade.

I'm currently running Cubase SX3 with MOTU HD192.

I'm attempting to connect my Apogeerosetta ad to my mac pro quad via the Toslink
(S/PIDF also called lightpipe) port on the back of the mac. Everything works fine until I choose 96k on the mac audio midi setup. It keeps bouncing back to 48k. Nax and apofee gave no solution.

For years I used Orion to create all of my music. I became so familiar with it that nothing else (to me) was even close. About two years ago, I switched to an Apple. While I'm certain I'll never look back (to a PC) for anything else I do, I really miss the simplicity of that application. Any recommendations? Regards.
