Mac Power Pc

Hi, I've got a little problem, my Mac g5 powerpc has 3gb in ram, 1.8 ghz dual processor and I still can't manage to make it run perfectly with my sessions. Some of them get really heavy and take my RTAS CPU usage to 95% even. Is there a way I can optimize my mac for mixing? I followed all the instructions for mac optimizing in the pro tools manual, is there anything else I can do?

Moving from Pc to Mac Pro now i need to go from pci to ?

Hi there, i am currently running a Pc with Samplitude and my sound cards are m-audio delta 1010 and delta 44 pci cards. i am considdering buying a mac pro and using logic 8 but this move will mean that i have to sell my pci cards and move to firewire or pci express sound cards as the mac pro does not have pci slots.

Mac Question

Since going mac about 2 years ago, I have not had any issues of great concern. The only problem I've had is as of late, when my computer is unplugged, the display shuts off after a few minutes even though I have the settings so the screen stays on. Its no life and death issue. But it had me wondering about regular servicing or system cleaning (software wise).

Question for Experienced Pro Tools Mac User

Hi thanks for possibly helping me with this.

Here is what I am trying to do:
I have a RME Fireface 800 that is connected to my Mac via Firewire 800 and I have a MBox connected via USB. I would like to record into Pro Tools software but send the audio input through the RME and bypass the MBox. Basically I want the MBox to be a 'dongle' for Pro Tools to run.
