Mastering Questions
I've been working with this local mastering guy (at the insistence of my clients, not by choice) who insists that I do not use any compression at all on the 2-bus. Normally when I mix I find judicious use of both channel & bus compression gives me the sound I'm looking for.

I am finishing a CD and will be sending it off to be mastered . there are 10 songs and it will probably be getting considerable local radio play. Do I need to insert any codes in the master? If I wanted to master it myself how would I go about setting up the IRS  C codes?

Mastering: SRC - 96/44 or 88.2/44 - and other quandries?
Somebody stated this somewhere:
Many products are mastered with analog out, through analog
processors, and re-converted at a lower sample rate, JUST to avoid doing SRC.
To do SRC WELL, and sound as good as good D/A-A/D conversion takes a bunch of
work to do it right.
gap between mixing and mastering?
Hi ya folks I have just recently dived into recording my music at home. I record vocals and "some" guitar at home through a AT 4050 mic, RNP preamp, and Echo Mia soundcard. The rest of the music is done at a local studio. I have to say that the quality and fidelity I get from my signal chain is really amazing.

Mastering for the Radio
Hi,
I'am starting to produce some work (jingles)for radio play, and I'd like to know if the mastering aproach is similar to that intended for normal CD playback.
Because of the compression that happens in radio stations, I think the audio shouldn't be too processd, but I'd like to know your opinions.
Thanks in advance

Toto Mastering
Hi! I am a very big fan of Toto. I have most of their albums, the preferred ones are: The Seventh One, Kingdom of Desire, IV, Mindfields.
My copy of Mindfields arrived today. It says it was masterd by GOD Ted Jensen.
To me seems that after track 07 they decided to go into a different direction. Some songs sound too bass heavy and a little distorted around the high mids.
