I want to try to some new, cheaper-end metal pop filters. Any input on these models (or others) is appreciated:

Hey guys, been a while since iv been on here. Iv been doing a bit more recording since last on and they were mostly metal bands. The problem iv been having most was on the kick drum, I cant get that slapping click like on most metal drums like from bands like fear factory, strapping young lad, shadows fall etc...

we are in proccess for one big indie and two big majors. we need producer with vidion who can mix our vision.

Alright so I'm having a lot of trouble getting a good distorted sound. I don't know if it is the mics, Micing techniques or just poor eqing. I'm playing through a Mesa Dual Rectifier and getting a great sound that way. Im using one sm57 which goes through a PreSonus firepod and i just use Cubase le's built in eq's. Any suggestions?

I'm just doing some very basic recordings for some joke songs but i was wondering how when I'm listening to pro recordings the same guitar seems to come from wide both sides as opposed to the center.

I've searched the forum and not really found what I am looking for, sorry if this question has been asked before.

My question is simply can someone give me a few good hinters on recording.

Shure PG 48
RODE NT4
KRK Rokit Powerd 5
PreSonus HP4

What is the starting point to mix all this stuf?

We are done with recording guitars and drums, only bass left(me). WOHO!
Both guitarists doubled their guitar track with a different effect. So We have total of 4 guitar tracks. They sound really heavy, but little muddy, because there are 4 of them and they are not equed at all...

Who prefers what...and why? Pro and cons...so on and so.

I only record one guy- he sounds like static-x singer Wayne Static- go listen at http://www.myspace.com/aliveatmyfuneral . Listen to Lord of Worms and Flies. I know that these vocals can sound better- They were recorded through an Audio-Technica AT4040, using a PreSonus TubePre preamp, straight in to the computer.
