VU meter

Hi Sebatron ,
I have a post in Pro Audio forum. Some models have optional VU meters, and others do not have like 4000e. It is an quite expensive adds-on.
What is your opinion? Can a Sebatron be possibly damaged without a VU meter? is VU meter in the signal chain? that may affect signal in any way?
Thanks.

Getting the "slap" with out peaking the meters !

Hi there ..
i'm working on electronic music, techno especially .. Everything is going into mastering for vinyl .. i know that the mastering studio can make it all sound louder but i still like to give them the best sounding thing i can ..

the problem i'm having right now is getting good slap on my instruments (Snare and Kick) especially without peaking my meters ..

meter drives

:) Seb, this is Rick from AVF, I have to use the sign in name now. I was wondering, after seeing the nice wide swing VU meters on your units, what you have done in regards to driving them? Is it rocket science to not impede performance? I can just imagine the nice graceful dancing. They sure look great in the Pro Shop!

SPL Metering?

I have a question about measuring levels with a little radio shack spl meter. If with nothing playing i measure around 70 dB or so, then let my music play and its around 85 or 90 dB then how loud am i really referencing my music? I measure in my car while driving and in the control room all the time and dont really know nor understand exactly how loud i am listening.
