Tapping in with a 2nd audio channel at a comedy club through mic cable not mixer
Hi, I do stand up comedy. Just got home from guitar center where I asked the guys there if this was possible. They sent me home with a Y cable that did not work. winding & unwinding mic cable
For 30 years I have been using the half wrap (end to end) where you put one end together with the other end, halving the length each time, but less 6" so the ends don't get into the last half. Repeat until the cable bundle is between two and three feet long and tie the whole thing into a simple yet loose knot. Put them all in a road case and done.

Reconstructing vintage mic cables
Unless I'm completely stupid, which is a distinct possibility, I didn't see a forum specifically for this sort of thing, so I'm sticking it here.
I've got a few vintage dynamic microphones that require a special four prong connection at the mic. I've got one such working cable. This cable boils down to an unbalanced quarter inch plug.

Difference in Blue (Green and Red) Mic cables
Well RO,
while I was cruising the web tonight, in addition to cringing at the piracy thread, I came across three different kinds of Blue microphone cables, which ironically are also red and green. I was just curious as to what the difference is, since I need to spend some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket.
Quietest Mic cables
