Can one use mic cable to connect outboard gear - XLR to XLR, or is it any different from interconnect cable - up until this point the compressors/eq's i've bought have used 1/4"

How much high frequency loss will there be with good 50 ft mic cables. (I.e. monster, live wire, mogami). Is it enough to worry about? THANKS.

ok, so it seems that from what I have been reading that Monster Cables are not really worth the extra cost. Can you guys give me some advice on good quality cables that won't break the bank? Thanks!

I've been digging around and around trying to answer this question by web researching on my own, but I'd much rather hear from you.

What mic cables do you like the most?

My equipment is an Apogee AD/DA MiniMe (two channel), a pair of RODE s NT5 condensor mics primarily for acoustic guitar, and a Studio Projects T3 large condensor mic for vocals.

I currently use the cheapest mic cables that I could find. I have a Great River pre and a Audio-Technica 4050 mic but am using radio shack mic cables. Would I notice an improvement in sound quality if I were to use better mic cables for instance Mogami gold series. I realize more expensive mic cables would be of better quality but do they provide any additional benefits?

At lengths of 25ft or less, does one notice a reduction in high frequencies when using a quad mic cable, compared to a standard high quality one? Any other considerations to keep in mind about a quad cable?
