Splitting output from mic preamp
Hello all,
Here's the scenario:
I'm running my mic preamp straight into my recorder
currently. I would like to split
the signal from the mic preamp and send the
additional output to my mixer so I can insert
into the mix bus for headphone distribution.

Cheap mic preamps
Has anyone tried any of those? Or can comment anything about those?
dbx 386, HHB Radius10, PreSonus MP20 or ART Tube Preamp System or DIO Tube Preamp System.
Thanks

Class A mic preamps?
What does something have to have or be to be classified Class A? Does it pretty much guarantee decent quality or is it more of a marketing thing?

ATI 8MX2 Mic Preamp/Mixer
As ATI is the parent company to API (I know this means little, yet it does mean something) - I have been checking out this preamp for my multi-channel needs for both live and studio needs
nice format, mixer and limters would be really handy - small, etc etc - heard great reviews, yet havent heard and cant find one around here to try.

Mics or mic preamps?
I know, I know, your signal chain is only as strong as your weakest link. But if you were just starting to collect some nice equipment would you go for a couple nice mic preamps maybe an api 3124 and an Avalon or a Great River Neve and use some AT and Oktava condensers with 57's and 421's. Or to get a couple royers and a Neumann or two and use some Mackie pres or something like that.

Buy a Mic pre or Reverb?
OK, I currently have an Avalon 737 as my only mic preamp and a Lexicon MPX500 and TC M One as my reverbs. I'm not unhappy with the sound of either, but would like other options. I do plan on purchasing another compressor as well but that's a different topic. I use a 24 track HD, home studio, rock music.

Symetrix mic preamp SX202 - Modifications?
Hi!
I have heard that there are modifications possible for my SX202 Mic Preamp, e.g. making it sound better, making it possible to use with batteries and such. Has anyone here had any experiences with these? Who does those mods? Is it worth the money?
Thanks in advance,
stefan

Opinions about top valve mic preamp
Need a valve dual channel mic preamp. My options :
- D.W.Fearn VT-2
- EAR 824M
- Requisite Audio Y7s
- Universal Audio 2-610
Need it for vocals (Neumann U87) and acoustic piano (with ribbon mics like Royer SF-12).
Your opinions will be appreciated

Building micpre with Jensen 990 / API 2520 style opamp blocks
Well, I'm trying to plan my electronics projects for the summer, and I have a nagging impulse to build some high quality mic preamp's. I've been using console pre's on my A&H or whatever I can borrow at the time, but I want something good. I'm thinking clear and clean would serve me best, but maybe some flavor too.
