right now i'm using a m audio mobile pre audio interface that my friend gave me and his old beat up pg48 ..

I'm addicted to mic's and pre's. Even though this isn't English, I understood and found it worth posting. I wish more North American clips were available.

Hoping somebody can shed some light on this, its got me confuddled.

Basically removing all other variables, I have a pair of Charter Oak M900 SD mics and one is acting strange.

They work fine (or seem to) when plugged directly into an RME Fireface, or a Ramsa digital mixing desk.

I need a mic preamp for RODE NTK. I would like to improve sound and reduce noise.
Does anyone know which mic preamp would work out well?
In view of finances, I am currently limited to a maximum of about $450 / 300 eur.
I have a sound card M Audio Firewire 410.

Looking for a 4-ch mic preamp upgrade to the pres' on my Yamaha AW1600. No surprise, requiring more gain for a few mics (using SM57, AT3035 and Sennheiser 421 at the moment for percussion - congas, keys and vocals) in my home studio. Desiring a mic preamp with neutral affect on the mic signals.

So Im going to start gearing up in the next few years and with some good mic preamps. I havent researched these as much as I have mics probably cause they arent as sexy to look at. What I have used lately is the octopre with all the goodies on it which I love. Ive also used the ISA 428 which was good but seemed noisy if I remember right.

Curently i have a fender blues deville 4x10 from 1994. I record using a sm57, into a firestudio project to my software. My amp sounds pretty good when i play with it live in overdive..but when i record it..it just sounds weak and fuzzy. I have about 1500 to spend, Would i be better off with a great preamp like a groove tubes SuPRe, or would i be better off getting a mesa boogie amp.

I'm looking for to upgrade my recording chain. I am currently using an M-Audio Tampa as my main preamp.
I have read good things about the Chameleon Labs 7602, Focusrite ISA One and Daking Mic Pre One and they seem to offer excellent performance and value.

OK, I know ART isn't the best mic preamp, but I have an MPA Gold and I am a little confused about the gain staging. I am hoping that there is someone out there that may have one that can help.
