Dear Friends

Please forgive me, i'm new to this forum, sol maybe this thread discussed before.
I'm experimenting with a diy mic preamp, based on AMEK 9098 mic preamp schematic.
I'd like to know, is there a good/reasonable method to set the input variable capacitor and the two trimpots(LOW/HIGH CMRR TRIM)?
On the attached schematic the parts: VC1,VR14,VR15.

This is not part of a mic shootout. Just a few dry clean samples for reference on the internet.

This grouping has mostly samples of the Cathedral Pipes Regensburg Dom, Neumann tlm102 mics, and the lindell audio 6x-500, Vintech 573, bla b12a, and electro harmonics 12ay7 tube pre (w/now rca tubes) preamps.

There's no compression/plugs/normalizing on any of the tracks.

Hi, just wondering what difference it makes where and when levels are turned up and down int he recording chain. Is it best to turn a guitar amp up a ton, and then turn the track down in my DAW, or to have the amp lower, and turn the volume up more in the DAW. And for Micing vocals, is it best to turn the microphone preamp way up, and then the track level down in the DAW, or vice versa?

I reached out and found Greg Hanks recently and found that he has relaunched his BA-660 mic preamp with some differences from the old version. I was pretty impressed by the last one while reviewing it. It'll take me a bit to wade through the new one. I'm just giving you a heads up.

Hi all ! does somebody have the AMEK 9098 Dual Mic Pre schematics (AMEK 9098 DMA)
(without EQ ).

The Rack have not EQ but have a DI INPUT, I know the schematics is a little bit different.
