Microphone records too quietly!

Forums

Hi there, I bought an Audix i5 today, to use with my m Audio Delta 44 breakout box, to record my guitars and drums, as well as vocals. However, when I came home and tried to record, even though my level on my Delta was all the way up for input, the mic still recorded REALLY quietly! I had to turn my speakers all the way up, and I just barely heard myself.

Could use microphone advice from resident gurus.

I may have mentioned this before. but my studio is changing the way it does things from recording primarily vocals only, to recording all manners of bands and genres of music. Basically, anyone who walks in the door, I'll record them if they are not too "high maintenance"...because we need the money and what we were doing before wasnt really paing the bills.

Condenser Microphone in Open Area.

Forums

I recently purchased a Mxl 909 Condenser microphone and I'm gonna be running it through a Samson C-Valve Tube Preamp. But I am gonna be doing my recording in my room, I live in a second story apartment building in an area thats not too busy but not really quiet. at times I can clearly hear children outside playing, and music from adjacent apartments and car stereos outside.

I NEED THE PROPER MICROPHONE TO RECORD RAP VOCALS

Forums

Hello,

I'm setting up a home studio. I want to record rap vocals with the best possible microphone, pre, and sound card within my budget. I will be recording my rap vocals with the help of a sound engineer I am hiring. If you want to hear what my voice sounds like please visit:

I just literally got a really good deal at GC. They are selling today only (Labor Day 2006) the Blue Robbie Microphone Preamp for $399.00 plus tax. It's normal list is $1299 and GC and everyone else has been selling it for $999.00. I auditioned one of these about 2.5 years ago and really fell in love with the sound but did not like the price.

Hello there- I'm looking for some advice on which microphones to rent for a musical that I'm working on. We need two good condensers for guitar/bass, two for random percussion, and one for a cello.
