need decent headphones for mixing/tracking

there are so many brands and models of headphones to get, that I don't know where to start.

First off these will be used for tracking monitoring, mixing, mastering etc. Now I know headphones are gonna suck for mixing, but it's where I have to start due to price, and environment (tracking in same room as computer).

Most accurate headphones for tracking and/or mixing

hi all,

well its seems i won't have the money to spend buying nearfields and treating my room so i was wondering if anybody knew a good set of headphones for tracking primarily. it looks like i'll be mixing with them too. i just need something as flat and accurate as possible.

Neutral mixing headphones?

Can you suggest me a good neutral mixing headphones in the 100$ range? Or do you think it'll really worth it to save up more to get something in the 200$ range (beyerdyn 990pro) instead of something in the 100$ (seinh HD280)

My monitors are Yamaha MSP5, they are ok, but I want a second reference, especially for the bass frequencies the msp5 aren'nt the greatest ...

mixing down with headphones

Is there a reasonably priced pair of headphones that could be used for mixdown without too much coloration? Or even a pair that isn't reasonably priced? I'm worried if I use speakers, that the sound of my room, or of the speakers will throw me off. For that matter, what is a decent pair of near field monitors going to cost?
