Maybe someone can help me here:

I have a really old analog Yamaha RM1608 sixteen track mixing board. I also have a Tascam US-122 Audio/MIDI interface running into a computer equipped with Cubase SL.

Is there any way I can run the RM1608 into the US-122 to allow me to record using 16 tracks? I don't know how this works, but would Cubase recognize each track individually?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No matter what mixer and interface you are using, if you want seperate tracks to record at once, you ned an interface to the DAW that supports as many channels as you need at one time. If you plan to mix using a analog mixer, then you need as many output channels out of the DAW as the you do mixer channels to take avantage of all the mixer channels. If your DAW interface has only 2 or 4 inputs and outputs then that is how many you can use at once.

Here is an example of what I run.

Amek Tac Scorpion 32 channels.
Direct out of each channel going to (3) Delta 1010lt's that provide 8 channels ( ins ) each thereby giving me 24 channels that I can record at the same time. I'm not using the remaining 8 channels of the mixer yet. As the studio grows I can always expand.
