Can you recommend any good, mobile/bus-powered preamps?
Hi.
alternatives for mobile multitrack recording?
I don't have a lot, but I'm interested in suggestions on how to best apply my existing equipment. Here's what I've got in the way of recording equipment:

Mobile Laptops: Windows or Mac?
Hello!
If one was to dedicate a laptop completely to (primarily) audio and (some) video editing, which is more condusive? Windows or Mac? I am going to be recording live music, running loops, creating beats, etc., and also editing a lot of pictures and some video.
Would a Mac be preferred for this? If so, why? If not, why not?
Thanks in advance for any input.

powering a mobile rig
What are the options for powering a small mobile rig... say an Apogee Ensemble, a laptop and 2 X AEA TRP (outboard preamps) and a headphone distribution unit in a (remote) Church that has no power?
Sorry, this must be the first thing to know about location recording, but i've never recorded in a place without power before and have no clue...

Power conditioner for mobile unit
I'm getting an Alesis HD24 for use as a mobile unit. I'll be doing some outdoor concerts where I'm not as confident of the power source as I would be indoors. I usually use the typical Furman rack rider power conditioner for my PA rig. What do you all use with mobile recording rigs?

I'm on the search for a 24 channel mixer to use mobile with an Alesis HD24.
I'm looking at the Onyx, but right now it's a little out of my price range. Any ideas?
