My mobile multitrack setup: gear and what I've learned
Hi all
I've been multitracking on my notebook for over a year now.
And seeing all the questions on this board brings back memories to when I was shopping for the right budget gear.
I got a lot of information from reading thousands of posts on this great forum and in return I would like to a add a little information myself.
Going mobile. Need help in deciding gear for powerbook.
I am a producer and even though my tracks are sometimes as many as 50, I don't record more than 4 tracks at a time (very rarely do I do 4 tracks). I record keyboards, guitars, some other solo instruments and vocals but not any instrument like a drum kit which requires more than 2 mics.
Mobile Studio Set-up.
Hi, I'm Harry, I hit 18 in january. At which time I get access to a bank account with approximately £4,500.
I'd really like to set up my own mobile studio* with that money.
*As in driving the gear to a band practice room, someones house e.t.c.

I have a mic going into the moblie pre. THe mobile pre going into usb. Cubase 2.0 VST. Windows XP Home. I loaded the MAudio driver, the Mobile Pre up as the Recording device and my other sound card up as the playback. When I speak into the mic the lights come on so I am getting sound. How come there is no sound. I know I am just missing something simple, maybe someone can help!
M-Audio Mobile Pre Hiss Problem
Hi all,
This is my first post here. Hope that someone can help me out on this.
I am not sure is it my mobile pre problem, or just my setting. My setup is super simple, Shure KSM27 to the mobile pre through XLR Mogami Gold Studio Mic Cable. Then mobile pre to my computer's USB port.

2 preamp mobile interface needed for friends new setup.
Hi. I posted a topic about a recording interface & laptop and it got removed and relocated. Sorry if it seemed in the wrong place, I felt that since the setup required an interface it might warrant being at recording gear...so to rectify, I've divided the post up.
Problems with my new MobilePre USB
Ok, guys, I finally popped for a M-Audio MobilePre USB, but I'm having issues with the other sound card.
I want to record through the MobilePre, and monitor through the other sound card, and Sound Forge and Cool Edit Pro are both being grouchy.
Thanks,
Brad Venable

New interface...M-Audio MobilePre USB or E-MU 1820?
Reposting from the Vocal Booth forum...
OK guys...it was suggested in another topic for a new Interface to look into an M-Audio Audiophile MobilePre USB for my computer.
What about the E-Mu 1820 or 1820m?
Ever since I saw one of these, I've become rather enamored of it...
