How to create stereo guitar from a mono source?
As the subject reads, I'm trying to get a good stereo sound out of a mono guitar source. I do intend to bypass the amp completely and use only direct audio from the processors. splitting into two mono L&R tracks and panning only sounds like just what it is, two of the same track panned to the sides. how do you get it to sound more like true stereo?
Tracking keyboard; Stereo or Mono?
Hey all, trying to tighten up on my skill set. When recording keyboard patches, piano, rhodes, etc., is it better to record stereo or mono?
If Mono is the choice, what are some of the techniques in giving thee tracks that ambient sound and feel.

Why is my stereo only mono?
I just got some msp5's off ebay. I plugged them into (out of?) my sound card, which has a single 3.5mm speaker output. Is there even a way to get stereo out of this? I ran a TRS 1/4" adapter, then a 1/4" splitter then two TS cables to each monitor. Now If I pan right, the volume drops--pan left, it increases. Should I use TRS cables also instead of TS?

Stereo Interleaved to Dual Mono
Can it be done with commands/Ketstrokes, or do you just reord back to 2 tracks?
Thanks,
Frank

mono vs. . stereo PA
I've been designated as the one to learn the ropes in Sound Reinforcement at my place of employment. So far, I've done sound for Joe Lovano, Leo Kottke and Tommy Makem, so I'm not a complete novice. I just feel that way sometimes. I'd like to appeal to the collective wisdom regarding the advisability of Mono vs Stereo PA setup.

Why does eMagic convert imported stereo files to mono th
...seem to normalize the track volumes?
I import stereo audio and it asks if I want to convert to two mono tracks. Simple enough - it's going into one audio track. The only thing I notice is it seems to normalize the track volumes taking away individual track dynamics...
Am I doing something wrong or going crazy?
