Help! Newbie Recording 2 (The Sequel)
I just got a Boss BR-864 and I am having problems with getting started. I want to incorporate drums sounds into the track first, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it. One would think that this would be easy, but of course not.
Anyway, I have tried playing along with a preset drum pattern while recording and the only thing that records is what I am playing.

newbie with the 1010LT
I just bought a 1010LT sound card that I plan on using with cool edit pro. I noticed that there are 6 rca inputs and 2 XLRs. from my mic preamps outs (which are 1/4 inch plugs), wouldn't I need a rca adapter from a 1/4 plug to plug it into the sound card's intputs? I think so, but when i do that, that reduces the six inputs down to three...no?

Best recording book for newbies?
Hey Everyone,
Not new to recording, but very new to computer recording. Can anyone recommend a great book on building my own PC recording DAW, or info on Mac? (can you tell I am still undecided? )

I’m looking to record using a Powerbook, Logic Express 6, and a Mackie: Spike. My question is: how much inferior would combo drive with 1.33GHz PowerPC G4 256MB DDR333 SDRAM be compared to a super drive with 1.5GHz PowerPC G4
