I've Always Wondered...
If you have two or more people singing into the same mic, will AutoTune work? Can it isolate these things, or will the entire signal be taken as a whole?

Do Treble Frequencies need to reach the ear "First"
An ad for a piece of audio gear got my attention and prompted me to post here. Basically, in describing the functionality of this item, the ad describes how the product helps to "time align frequencies so that the highs reach our ears first, which provides superior spatial imaging and richer harmonic content." So here are my questions.
clean preamps?
Hey all, I've been dabbling in recording both analog and digital on and off for some time, but there's still a lot I need to learn.

Recording advice for upcoming live performance
I will be recording an unusual music group in a couple weeks and wanted to get opinions and advice on a mic setup. I will have access to 8 precision mic preamps going optical into a digi002. I will also have access to various high quality microphones from the university's recording studio.
I Need a Quality Preamp with Lots of Clean Gain
I just bought two Mics a Shure KSM44 and a SM7b now I just need too get a nice quality matching preamp to go with them. one of my worries is too get enough good clean gain from the preamp for my SM7b Mic .which I know is going to take a lot of gain 60 to 70db any good seggestions to power it? ...I found a good used Grace within my budget. I would appreacate your advice and suggestions?
Recording/Mixing Vocals Question
Is it acceptable to bounce a song without the vocals, then open a new session and recording and mix the vocals along side the 2 track mix?

Strange problem in a hall.
Today I did a choir concert in the local community college auditorium. I used an ORTF setup with two RODE NT-2A microphones. I was back about 20 feet from the first row of the choir and up about 3 feet over heads of the singers in the back row. Pretty normal setup for us.

I've been recording live shows for a relatively short time, with good/great results. Ive been using a mix of Y cables and running my own mics into a digi and octopre.

Need help picking out microphones for vocal recording
Hello everyone,
I've lurked here from time to time reading some great advice on recording acoustic music. I've been thinking about getting some of my own equipment for a while, and the need is finally coming upon me.
Suggestions for Mics to get
I'm looking to spend up to $1300 and am in desperate need of some new mics. I don't have much now, but have the purpose of slowly building up my studio as funds permit. I would like to get at least 2 microphones with the $1300, but would be open to any food for thought :) I've been looking at stuff like Neumann TLM 103, AKG C414 B-XLS, RODE K2, NT4 and NT5s, Beyer M 130 & M 160.
