Hello,

I'm putting together a computer system for recording--PC/Windows XP. Any recommendations on soundcards? Looking for maximum flexibility as I expand, options, quality, value. Any thoughts appreciated.

anybody of you tried some ADK mics (particulary the SC-1 or SC-2 small dia models)? How did you like them?

Im looking to replace my RODE NT5 with something else, and Ive been adviced to look into the AT4040s.

Either the Tube or FET version?

I understand that these are re-makes (or cheaper copies) of some earlier GT mics.

Musician's Friend is blowing these out and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these mics and could describe the sonic difference one could expect between the tube and FET (the FET being describes as "warmer" in product ads).

After talking with many of you about gear I narrowed my preamp decision to a Great River pre that sells for $1075 but...today I stopped by a local dealer and the manager wants to blow out his Avalon M5's for $720 because he doen't want to carry them anymore. I wanted to get a Great River because many of you are thrilled with them and said that they are an awesome all around pre.

Considering purchasing an Eventide effects unit.
Especially considering use for vocals--vocal quality, flexibility--but will use for other instruments as well. Looking for quality sounds, flexibility. And value, of course, always matters somewhat.

I have been offered a good deal on one and was wondering what you guys think of them?

I am looking to replace my Mackie 16 with a better console for warming up my DAE output (Logic / MOTU 896). I am looking at a couple consoles like the Sony MXP-2000 and Studers. Any professional advice? I'm open to other mixers $5000 and less and I am looking for nice warm sweeteening eq and channels that sound good when the gain is crunched. Thanks!

Has anyone used the Audix adx-90 mics for drums or other instruments? They are on sale for $69.95 at MF but I have not heard much about them. Appreciate your opinions.
