I'm going to start recording soon and i was wondering if anyone knows what is a good inexpensive overhead drum microphone is a bass drum microphone is?

I need some quick opinions on overhead preamps around 1500, must be a stereo pair

I'm using a stereo pair of km185's. I was considering a Vintech 1272, a summit 200b, ... Any suggestions? What about that True Systems analog2? Please help if you've had great experiences with a dual preamp. Thanx 8-)

I was wondering about recording with more than 2 overheads, or with two different overheads. Just curious about this. .

This is my actual condenser mic setup:

AKG C1000 (2)
AT4033 (1)
KSM44 (1)

i bought a (large diaphragm condeser) KSM27 and a marshall 603s (small diaphragmed condenser) to record acoustic guitar.
i heard from a friend and an employee at Guitar Center that 2 KSM27's would make "amazing" overheads for drums, any one use them as OH's and if so, good results?

Any one using stereo overheads and stereo room mics? If so what mics and patterns are you using? And what are you doing to combat phase and delay issues?

recently i ordered a couple of Audix 15 fussion mics to use them as overheads for drum recording. the thing its that there seem to be a confusion with the order and they sent me a couple of i5's (they mistook the 1 for i) so i did research on the mic and it seems to be compared to the sm57. so my question is.

am i going to get a very undesired sound if i used them as overheads?

Each go into a stereo track? or mono? Right now i use mono and pan L and R. Just curious.

I have a theory.
No gear to test it out yet though.

As we all know when we eq the left and right channels
differently of a stereo recording the image "feels" wider. Correct?

Ok, so my bassist and I starting recording today for our next CD. We're doing it at home using my PC and my Delta 1010. We're using 8 inputs, Bass/Snare/Tom1,2,3/Hihat/Overheads 1/2.
