Tom Mics Overheads Best?
Hey guys just wondering what tom mics are getting good results. I've been using cheap little CAD mics for racks and a CAD LD kick drum mic for the floor. I found that my CADs sounded a little nicer than my SM57's. I'm still not super happy though. Was thing of using my TLM 103 on the floor and getting some MD 421's for racks. Any other suggestions?

Overhead Mics
I'm looking into buying some overheads for my Tama Artstar. It seems to me that the AKG c1000S or the RODE NT5 are my options so far? Any thoughts one those or any oher recomendations?

Overhead Mics - The Delima
I need to put together a drum mic set ASAP. And i am foxed by lack of availability this side of the world. Most (of the very few) distributers here do not stock.
And order on prepayment only. Which usually takes a lot longer than promised etc etc..
So for the snare I already have a SM57.
Intend on using SM58's (maybe Beta 58's if i can) on the toms.

Overhead mic suggestions for a group of singers
Hi
I am currently wanting to mic up 2 groups of 5 singers each and have 2 Samson CO2's
Are these OK for the job, or does anyone recommend anything better for around £50 per mic ?
Thanks
Mike

Good Drum Kick Mic and Overheads for under $250?
I'm selling my Shure PG mic kit on ebay for 220 and I'm looking for an upgrade. I've bought two SM-57s previously and all i need are good overheads and a quality kick drum mic. Any suggestions? I know this is such a common post to ask for recommendations for mics but I figure you guys have definite favorites.
Overhead Micing
I'm lost! I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I keep seeing the term X/Y Micing configuration but can't seem to find an explanation of it in the posts. I'm assuming it refers to the position of the mics relative to each other, or is it the position of the booms? I am Micing my cymbals with 2 overheads and close Micing the drums.

Good Overhead Mics?
I'm looking at upgrading my overheads and I just tought that I'd ask everyone what they were using before I make a purchase.
Any suggestions for some great overheads? (price isn't really an option)
Thanks!

small or large diameter condenser for overheads and why!
just seeing what you folks usually use and why. I've been using small diaphragms for years but would like to try something new. also, my snare doesn't pick up well in the overheads even when they are very(too) close.
question for recorder man- overheads- capsule direction
Hi Recorderman, I'm sure you're tired of getting called out, but I have a question that I could not find in your instructional threads. Using your technique with 2 cardioid condensers (Large diaphragm), which direction do you aI'm the capsules? (I could only find your info on actual mic placement)
THANKS!

Specific drum overhead question (with my UA 2108)...
Hi...this is my first post, and I just wanted to start out by saying that this site is a fantastic resource. However, I searched the old threads, and still couldn't quite get an answer to my question. So here goes:
