The resaon I'm asking this is two part. 1. I'm currently running Logic 5.5.1 on PC and will soon be moving to Mac to upgrade to the latest version of logic but I want to buy a UAD-1 now to use on current projects. 2. As I have to buy the UAD-1(pci) to work in my current system, will it work also on the newest Macs? Or do you have to purchase the UAD-1e(pci express) for the new Macs.

I am looking for a good Compressor/Limiter plug In for mastering.

One kind of like Sony's Wavehammer with these options.
Options:
Has an Input Gain fader(Wavehammer does not)
Allows Peak and RMS Compression
Ratios up to 50:1 or higher if possible.
Offers a Limiter to limit the Output

just been exploring daw software - garageband, Cubase le and audiodesk (digital performer lite). will Cubase studio 4 allow me to record plugin effected sound in real time? i read that only sx allowed this in the past (as opposed to se)

I wanted to put a warning out there so that you don't go through the same BS I did. Here's the skinny:

I purchased IK Multimedia's Effects Bundle. The whole package was about $600. This includes the following plugs:
T-Racks
CSR
Ampeg
Amplitube

I notice that pro tools only displays one plugin at a time, or thats the default. How can you change it so you can see multiple plugins at once?

I am actually planning to buying a few things for my studio - mostly plugins. However I think I need some advice.

I have just bought and installed Duende. The Installation seems to be ok.

My problem is that Cubase 4 does not show the SSL Plugins. I recognized that I have to move the DLL's manually to the Cubase VST folder, but it did not help. I even tried different positions within the VST folder, in sub-folders and directly in the VST root folder.

I have a 001 and am about to upgrade to a 002 in order to use PT 7.

I have yet to buy any plugins since upgrading to PT 6 a couple years ago.

What are the most popular plugins that are being used as far as EQs, Comps, Gates, and Amp modelers?

I guess what I'm asking is what would you guys purchase?

Any specific bundles?

So i downloaded a big plugin folder for cubcase le. I'm running a Mac OSX Tiger. i got them from here http://

I dragged the file (mda.component) into the plugin folder. (/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/ folder)

That's what it says to do. but then i go into cubcase and try to put an effect on a track but none of those plugins show up!
