Description

A preamplifier, also known as a preamp, is an electronic amplifier that converts a weak electrical signal into an output signal strong enough to be noise-tolerant and strong enough for further processing, or for sending to a power amplifier and a loudspeaker. Without this, the final signal would be noisy or distorted.

preamps

hi i was thinking about getting some preamps.

at first i thought, maybe i should buy neve's, and then i changed my mind and thought that i should buy some vintage api 312's. but after careful consideration, i considered buying the Neve clones by xyz manufacturer. if i don't get those i was thinking about getting the api clones by another manufacturer.

my budget is ~$200

Preamp upgrade opinions!

Looking to upgrade over the Digi 002R pre's. Budget $1,500. I primarily record electric guitar, bass, vocals. My only condenser mic is an AT3035 which is decent but nothing fancy. The unit i decide to get must have a good instrument pre in it.
After research these are the pres i found suitable. If anyone has any experience with these, please let me know what you think:

Some advice about preamps or mics

I have $1500.00 the area in which I lack most in my studio (home studio)
Is a high-endvocal mic or preamp, my main mic now is a RODE NT1 and a PreSonus pre, if you had the money what would you get? a U87 vox mic or a high-endpre, I am not knowledgeable in this area I just know my vox arent up to par with the rest of the recordings, I use a 4X4 vocal booth,
