A trilingual travelling musician, producer, DJ, street dancer/performer. I am producing with my Sony Vaio laptop at the moment. I use the Korg Kronos 61 key as well. My Daw is Cubase 5 soon to be 7.

I am looking for feedback from anyone who has dealt with these or other Custom DAW PC builders. First off, I do NOT want to build my own. I am capable, but frankly it is worth it to me to spend a few hundred dollars to avoid the time, effort, and frustration involved.

hey guys I'm building a new pc dedicated only for music recording with Cubase and ableton, and i will mainly be recording midi.
my new build is :

CPU : i7-2700k Sandy Bridge

Motherboard : AsRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3

PSU : Corsair HX-650

RAM : G.skill DDR3 16GB 1600 mhz

SSD for OS : Crucial m4 256 gb

HD : Hitachi 7200rpm 1gb

I am sure this question has been answered numerous times before but scrolling back a few pages I couldn’t see so I may as well ask.

I am getting together my recording things now and I of course need a computer. (I should mention I am going Pc)

I will mainly be doing solo stuff with guitar, drums, vocals etc.

I am looking at upgrading my computer to 8 cores.
i am wondering whether there are any windows based motherboards that support dual cpus? similar to that of the mac pros.

I have a small setup in my spare room comprising of an old HP workstation, MacBook and a couple of instruments including USB drum kit.

My MacBook is on the way out and I don't have the money to replace it at the moment. I do however have access to a few gaming computer spare parts.

Has anyone tried the Mac mini for recording yet? This thing looks pretty awesome for a mobile recording rig.
