Monitor Placement
How far away from the back wall should you place the speakers? (How close can you get away with?)
Thanks for the help.

Frequencies and Mic Placement
Hey everybody, my name is Nick and I'm an aspiring drummer and recording engineer/producer.
I'm going to be recording some drum tracks soon and I have been told that if mics are placed incorrectly then the frequencies will cancel each other out and effect the sound you are getting. What are the guidelines you guys follow as far as mic placement goes.

Dumb question but I was wondering about mic. placement.
Is it true holding the mic. upside down makes it sound better and why? I am talking about condenser mic.'s by the way for recording vocals.

Why is high mic placement often recommended?
Hi All -
I've read any number of times that a good place for live recording mics is up in the air; "the higher the better" was indicated on more than one occasion.
What characterizes the difference in sound between typical ear-level and higher up? What makes it better?

Monitor vs. . Computer Screen Placement?
I tried searching about this, but couldn't quite find what I was looking for. I've set up my monitors on stands now, but I'm concerned that the two computer screens are too far forward.

help with a mic placement puzzle
Hi All -
My girlfriend is a violinist and I've been recording some of her chamber music performances. I'm relatively new at it. Of course I'd like to improve, but right now I'm more concerned with learning the basics than producing a perfect product.

silly mic placement question
can anyone hear attest to the difference between hanging a mic upsde down in a boom (as in most reCDing studios) or having it right side up? i've been doing the latter for years and just now thought of this.
thanks

Best mic type and placement for my needs
I have a Fostex MR-8 MKII that I have been practicing my coffee shop act out on. I have a pair of MXL condensor mics that I am experimenting with, and I want to ultimately only use one mic through the Fostex and then out to an ampmonitor.
