Portable recording device with playback while recording new track (w/without overdub)
Hi everyone, I am new here. I am looking for something like the Zoom H4n / H2 that I can use as a portable recorder, but also plug into a PC and use as a USB mic. I would also like to be able to play back a track on the device and record a new track without overdubbing.

playback delay
Does anyone happen know why there is a playback delay when recording on to my laptop?
Even when an instrument is plugged directly into the laptop, there is a half a second or so delay between playing the instrument and hearing it through the headphones.
This is obviously quite a hindrance! Any ideas would be gratefully received

Using Magix Music Maker:
Midi playback skips and studders terribly, and says 100% of my cpu is used when I use multiple tracks with the synth. I know I have enough Ram and my processor is good. What I'm wondering is if the payback midi thats on my computer is causing this problem, and if getting a new soundcard with a better driver will fix this.
Playback re-recording
Hey guys, Having a problem on Win7 with playback re-recording. Here's the layout
1) Track one records just fine, no problems there
2) Track two will re-record what track one is playing, so I'll have 2 part ones and barely any part 2 in the final
