preamp and compressor
Ok I've been reading a lot on RO with regards to preamps and compressors. I am pretty set on getting a Focusrite ISA 428 for the front end of my daw. @ $1600 it doesn't leave me much room for buying a compressor, so I think I want the RNC 1773 to go with it. One day I would like to get a red 3 compressor, but right now I'm just about spent up.
Anyways, any thoughts?

Preamp to add warmth
Hi,
I am looking for a pre-amp to add some warmth to my recordings.
I will use it for vocals and guitar, but one of the main points would be to run my synths and some software synths through it, to make them sound warmer, richer and fatter.
So far I came up with these choices:

Build your own mic preamp?
I've seen a website. don't have the url right now...but they sell kits to build your own mic preamps based on Neve and other high-end mic preamps.
Has anyone ever built one? Is it worth the money? I'd like to build one just for fun, but if it is a quality product then I think that is just grand!

looking for a preamp for a Korg 32xd
I have been looking into getting a preamp for a Korg DAW. Some of the preamps I have looked at include: Focusrite red 8 dual mic preamp, mh441 isa 428, or isa 430 mkII. Avalon makes a dual mono ad2022, which I might also be interested in.

preamp is incredible
hi Sebatron . i'm very pleased with my vmp-2000e.
out of all my preamps that includes an API and Neve copy i turn to the seb as my goto preamp first.i sometimes wonder if i should have got 4000e for the extra channels.it certainly has made my recordings another level.
do you recommend any particular mics for acoustic guitar ?
