Description

A preamplifier, also known as a preamp, is an electronic amplifier that converts a weak electrical signal into an output signal strong enough to be noise-tolerant and strong enough for further processing, or for sending to a power amplifier and a loudspeaker. Without this, the final signal would be noisy or distorted.

BLA Auteur vs Sytek MPX4 vs DAV-BG-1 preamps

Hi guys,

Hesitant to ask yet another preamp question for those who are sick of them...

I'm not a gear junkie, but I don't want to be limited by my gear either. I'm looking at these preamps because I'm hearing/reading good things about them. And in fact, in the case of the Auteur by Black Lion Audio I've still never ever heard anything less than stellar about it.

Hi everyone i m writing after a long time again. i have simple home recording setup i.e sm58, konnekt 8 and a windows based pc.

Recording e-drums through preamps - any difference?

Does it matter what kind of preamp a person records e-drums through? The sounds in the drum kit module are pro-quality already, but I imagine that what they go through before they hit the DAW can make a huge difference in their recorded quality. Am I correct in my assumption? If I send the TD-9 sounds through a Neve it should sound better than sending it through an ART or FMR RNP?
