Sytek preamps ?
Hi !
I've been in the market of a 4 preamps unit and been looking for ISA428 or Daking or something similar.
Thing is my budget is limited (like everyone says) and I've came by the Sytek which is well priced and got good reviews.
The problem is, I can't have any reviews or discussion about them since 2009'

Soundcraft 200B preamp modifications
Hello all,
I have recently acquired a 24CH, 200B, with the two sweeping mid EQ's.(for $300 I got the mixer and a bunch of other gear). There is no hum in the power supply or the board, no scratchy pots or sliders, and everything seems to work well. I want to use it for recording, using a line off the INSERT jack to LINE IN on my converter.
I have 4 specific questions.

Question about preamp/interface setup
Hello I'm new to the forums and just purchased some low budget equipment recently. I do mostly Hip Hop vocals and a little bit of female recording. Anyways I have an Audiobox USB Interface and a Tube MP Studio Preamp. I'm running the newest RODE NT1 through the Tube and then to the the interface through the Mic inputs/outputs.

Adding a meter to a preamp
or any of our other resident electronics wizards..
I have this ADK AP1 mic preamp that I love, but it lacks metering. There is nothing there to indicate what my input/output levels are.

Advice on adding mic/instr preamps to my studio rack on a budget
I have a small semi-portable studio rack system which I use to record my own music as well as band sessions. My gear includes an ART Dual MP preamp box which gives me two decent mic/instr preamps that works well for certain mics and instruments, but I frequently need a few more preamps. Right now, I fall back on my Zoom R16 channel amps, but I'd like a better option.
Preamp for a pair of C414?
Stop me if this sounds stupid, but I'm thinking of recording live instruments with a pair of C414s and I just realized that I don't have a dual channel preamp. Should I get something with a built in compressor/limiter, or keep those things separate?
