Hello. I'm currently at a music college here in London and I have been given a task of writing a one page essay on studio and production techniques, but as I have no knowledge of how a studio works or it's techniques, I have no idea where to start!

I have a decant vocal set up, i am making some nice beats with all thevirtual stuff. (mini moog, modular, absynth, all the NIstuff, Bosendorfer 290, Plug Sound, everythinggg).

I want to get into the Hardware production... I have a Micro Korg, I have a midi keyboard, Alesis Q6...

What I want to know is, anyone use these?

Can anyone recommend a decently priced (no more than about $150) software that can be used to make hip hop beats? Something that would have a "drum machine" and some other good stuff to use.

Hi all. I am a small studio owner who is trying to get educated on the legalities of music production. I have many questions.
Here is my situation.
I am an aspiring producer/engineer. I am starting to record a major project which I plan to sell/market as much as my budget will allow.
I am looking for contracts/agreements that will protect everybodys best interests.

I record all my stuff in 32bit and when mastering it down to 16bit for CD I do notice the drop in quality and dynamics. For this reason I would like to make my CD's HDCD. I don't have a clue where to start.

I record in Cubase SX 2 and master using a Behringer DEQ 2496 and CoolEdit Pro 2. I Burn using Nero. Can I do it with this?
