Is there a way to fool the MR-8 to connect with a MAC to record directly into Garageband, or as an alternative, for mixing in Garageband? Analog output to analog/digital interface?

I know the machine is designed to connect to a PC or use a card reader to bring the WAV file into the MAC, but it seems like ther should be a way to fool it.

i have been recording with a Tascam 424 mkII, and I'm moving up to some digital stuff.
i was wondering if anyone has any opinions on the fostex MR-8. i have plenty of experience with digital recording, so simplicity is not really an issue, although i've read it is extremely easy to use.

I'm looking to help my voice teacher improve her lesson recording setup. Right now she records lessons with a Sony cassette walkman with the built-in mic and the results are poor quality and inconvenient (I've actually dubbed lessons to my DAW for playback from an ipod).

Opinions on the best recorder to get for recording classical ensembles, using only 2 tracks, with a Royer 24 stereo mic and Millenium HV-3B pre-amp? Is there a difference in audio quality between the new digital recorders that are replacing DATS, made by Fostex, Sound Devices, Tascam, Nagra etc? The Fostex FR-2 preamps cannot be bypassed. The Tascam DV-RA1000 includes DSD recording.

I am new to this and was looking for some help? I have a RCA digital recorder and I am trying to down load it to my computer. I am able to record it through the sound recorder that comes with the computer. However, when I try to play it, all I get is scratch. Can anyone help me?

Help me understand the basic function of recording on a DAT recorder

I bougth a secondhand DAT recorder on ebay, with only a small german basic manual

Are these new DVD recorders that record CDRS suitable for CD mastering? Many will have 4X as the slowest speed and recently I found one with 8X as the slowest speed. THANKS for any help on this.

Just a quick question - I'm considering using the Tascam DV-RA1000 as my master recorder (or one of them I should say) but I'm curious.

I know it writes DSDIFF files, but can it play them back so as to verify what has been recorded, or are you at the mercy of the machine?
