Recording Piano in my Home
Forums
Working on my chops to record a piano in a small room with not the best acoustics. I'd love your opinion.
I grabbed my daughter while practicing a lesson just now, put up the DPA 4011 in ORTF and hit play. Please, How does this sound to you, am I getting close to good?

Recording with a digital piano
Forums
Hey guys,
I'm very new to recording, and I wanted to start making piano videos for my youtube channel.
I have a Roland digital piano (HP-3E-PE) and very soon I am getting a new computer with an internal soundcard,as my laptop doesn't have one.

Piano Recording Advice?
Forums
Hello everyone, new to the forums here!
I've done a decent bit of recording before (but on an amateur level) with piano, violin, and voice overs. Since I'm going to be applying to colleges soon, I thought that I'd create a music portfolio for my piano playing.

classical piano recording - mic choices
Forums
I'm planning to record my demo CD at school's practice room with baby grand Steinway. The repertoire is just classical piano, such as mozart, beethoven, schumann, brahms, and rachmaninoff. I'll record it with a field recorder H4n. Now i still need to get a good mic (or a pair?) From my research, it seems that some good choices include: Oktava MK-012, Shure SM57, and NT55...

Recording duo cello and piano/classical music
Forums
Hi!
I'm completely new to the audio recording and I am asking for some advice.
I'm planning to record classical piano with cello (Schubert Arpeggione Sonata).
I have tree mics: RODE NT55 matched pair and Audio-Technica AT2050.
Everything goes to my laptop via Fast Track Ultra.
Piano recording
Forums
Well... I could really use some feedback on this. I just test-recorded a piano (Steinway Grand 1990). In a few days I need to do a whole CD (piano & cello). Mainly Schubert.
This was my setup:
KM184 in ORTF - 25cm above the strings (detail)
(Left 30) Low strings 0dB
(Right 30) Treble strings -2dB

Hey guys,
Wind Ensemble and Recording a Clavinova Piano
Forums
Hello everyone, I have a Yamaha clavinova CLP- 230 piano which I use to pre-record music to play at shows for my wind ensemble. I have been using basic audio cables the ones with the red and white input and plugging them straight to mixcraft on my computer however when I start to play forte the sound becomes distorted.
