Recording Studio for the Vocalist

Forums

Hi. I'm new here and new to setting up a recording studio. I've been spending my time mostly in the big studios in the Bay Area. It would save me so much money to just setup my own studio geared for just tracking vocals. I can track the band there, mix on SSL, master there too. I'd like to track in my own place and maybe do some tuning too. The big studios run HD.

help locate financing for new recording studio

Hey everybody. I just wanted to say "HI". I have so much enjoyed this website, and getting to know more about the music industry. As an update to those of you I've talked to, I'm still helping my friend locate the financing for his new studio. I spent the day with him today and I got to see what he does for a living. I listened to a CD that he just produced.

Temples of Sound- inside the great recording studios

HEy all, quick comment. I just received "temples of sound" by jI'm cogan and william clark, and it's a really cool read. Lots of info and great layout and design.

Not to mention an entire section devoted to Bill Putnam and his ground breaking designs (and records).

Check it out.

How to spend $3000 upgrading my recording studio

If all you had was a Neumann TLM 103, Allen & Heath Mixer, Nuendo, Waves Ren, UAD-1, Pair of Oktava MK-012's, RODE NT-2, various small and large dynamic mics Mackie HR824's, decent sounding rooms AND had $3,000 to upgrade what would you do?.Style...Rock, Alt Country, full band and acoustic mostly multi-tracking so a mic or mic preamp can be used for most instruments.
