new vocal mic for male rock/blues
I'm going to pick up a new vocal mic soon to be used on male rock/blues. I'm looking in the $500 - $1000 range. If it helps, the preamps I've got to chose from are the Focusrite ISA428 and Vintech 1272. Will also probably try using with acoustic instruments and distant mic for kick drum.
Regards,
Joe

What gear do you use to master Rock albums ?
This might be a wide type of question, but I would really appreciate your answers. I plan on starting to learn to master mainly rock albums. I have my own recording studio, but I dont intend on mastering what I record. Im going to master other people's work.
What mastering compressor, EQ, limiter, summin bus, processors, monitors do you use or recommend?

A General Rock home studio?
Hi,
I'm trying to start building a home studio for my band and hopefully some buddy groups. I have used Digi 001 with a previous guitarist and though it was great. I am not necessarily sold only on Pro Tools though. I was looking at the E-MU 1820M, the Aardvaark Q10 (not now after they closed) or Pro Tools Digi001 or 002.

Have you worked with a rock/alternative band? tell me.
Since I come from mainly an r&b/hip hop recording background I'd like to know what the process is of recording a rock or alternative group/band.. ? What's a typical session like? Which instruments are recorded first? Typically inthe sessions I assist in I see the producer sit down at an MPC and a keyboard with various sound modules and get a tune going.
POD XT - HARD ROCK/METAL
My band is finding it VERY hard to find a distortion that we are all happy with using the POD XT.. the distortion sounds we use sound very synthetic no matter what we do, (the clean sounds arnt to bad though)... Ive downloaded about 200 heavy metal presets from the line 6 tone transfer site... and to add to that we have even tried creating our own presets...

Doublebass-slap (Rockabilly)
Is there anyone who knows where I can find samples like Doublebass (upright bass) with slapsound. I prefere nki-files because I work with NI-kontakt softwaresampler.
I work with TRILOGY Total Bass Module from spectrasonics and it's quite alright but I can't create any acoustic slapsound in this trilogy module.
Is there anybody who can help me with my problem.
