Please recommend a mic for rapping/singing (hip hop/dance/rock) - under $400 used/new
I can give you about 5 examples of my vocal style/range, which pretty much summarizes it all. Building Castles's Profile - Indaba Music Most of it isn't really hip hop from these particular examples, but in my music, I do a fair amount of rapping and I sing in every song. Black Holes would be a good song to check out, as it represents both my rapping and my singing.
how i can balance guitar and drum soun in hard rock?
sometimes the drums do the guitar sound inaudible in some parts specially in hard rock guitar distortion if i up the guitar the drums sound no good
how i balance it? using Sonar x1 in pc recording?
Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Recording in Cubase
Hello Guys. I would like to ask somethink about recording Hard Rock / Heavy Metal songs.
While in recording process, who much do i have to leave for the mastering and mixing ? I'm working with Hard Rock and Heavy Metal mostly and need to learn more on that.

Recording a rock cello quartet
Hopefully this is the right place to put this,
Newbie here. I searched around quite a bit, but I honestly have not found any situations close to mine. I am part of a quartet who does some pretty hard core rock cello, like Apocalyptica and Break of Reality. We are looking to record some songs with the following equipment:
2x AKG 414
2x RODE NT-5
2x AT4040

Blue Microphones Bottle Rocket Stage 2
Has anyone had any experience with this mic? I'm looking at this mic along with a couple of the capsules.
It seems to have received good reviews.
Thanks!

Rock Bass Mixing
Ok so this is pretty much a straight forward one. I know how I do this and the tone I get sounds pretty awesome.
I'm just wondering because I am open to ideas and always like to learn from people.
What do you guys use to record your bass and what is the typical EQ and compression application you would go by ?

Yamaha Drum Kit for Hard Rock/Metal
Hello!
A band that i engineer has just got an endorsement from Yamaha. We want a Drum Kit. Very Hard Rock, metal. Want a very mordern sound.
Which Yamaha Drum Kit is best suited. The Stage and Recording Customs as Birch. Are Birch and Maple equal ?
Next post on Drum heads.
I do not have much experience with woods vs sound.
Thanks a ton!

Studio Projects C4 ROCKS!
Just wanted to say, I'm using these for the first time tonight and I am loving them on a Martin Acoustic. They sound very natural without all the boomyness of my other larger diaphram condensers I used to have to use (I just didn't have anything else). Cant wait to try these out as drum overheads. For $200 a piece or a little less, well worth it.
