Suggestions for treating this room?
I was wondering if anyone could offer advice to treat this room to record spoken dialogue:

I'm hoping to record people at the table.
The room is roughly 23'x23' with a 98" ceiling.
The floor is fake wood laminate.
There is a popcorn ceiling.

Room for another 1176 clone?
Looks like (now berringer owned) Klark Technic has produced an 1176 clone. Priced $600 its in line with other mass produced clone gear.
IMHO it's insulting to both KT and 1176 that this thing is out. Having not heard it or used it I can't comment on its quality or authenticity. To me it's just a way to grab some kids cash.

Same drums different rooms YouTube video
this is pretty cool, I wish the clips were longer but pretty remarkable difference among rooms. Also insteresting to me was they used and RME/ISA 828 combination. This is similar to pcrecord marcos setup I believe. Man does that big room sound and look spectacular imho!

Free well regarded room mode calculator has mobile edition.
this calculator has a great rep around the www. I find it super useful, and love the way it graphically depicts the hot/cold spots in a given set of dimensions.
Paper on Hi Fi Speakers and Room Response
andre linked this paper, and I thought it would be good to have over here, just for general interest.
The discussion was based on 'house curve' where studios tend to have a response that has a boost in the lows and a dip in the highs.

Soundproof your bedroom at the flick of a switch:
Soundproof your bedroom at the flick of a switch: Elastic tubes that can be built into walls turn sounds on and off at will
- Helices of elastic created a material that acts as an on/off switch for sound
- Leaving the material uncompressed allows audible sound to pass through
Strange room setup. Need advice!
I just moved into a house where I would really like to be able to mix. I have 7 24x24 acoustic foam tiles. I know ill need other treatments. See the picture for my room dimensions. I'm not sure what else I need, or where to place what. I would like to be able to record in the room as well… if that makes a difference. Thanks!

The worst room you have ever rehearsed / tracked / played in?
I thought this would make an interesting topic for a thread. it came up as a side topic in another thread so I thought I'd give it a life of its own...
What is the worst room you have ever rehearsed / tracked / played in?
It may even be an outdoor gig...I'm sure everyone has a story or two to tell and it may be good for a laugh or two as well.
