Opinions on this?

The room is a drywalled basement with a low ceiling (prob about 8'.) Cement floor covered with carpet. The room is probably 20 x 30. The kit is against the back wall, standard stage setup. Any suggestions for better placement of the kit?

Right now I have crisply smeared mud if that makes any sense.

I'm having an enormouse problem getting a drum sound at the moment. I generaly don't like to use too much close Micing but end up having to because I can't deal with the noise from the cymbals any other way. Lots of ride required. Room is smallish 15x12 and has quite a low ceiling.

I used to have foam on the ceiling but this got taken down when I re decorated.

Hi! I know this does not make sense but...

I was finishing a mix a few hours ago. As I were using plenty of plugs and was a little lazy to deactivate some so as to open the junior mastering plugs across the master fader, a strange thing happened:

At first, I had: Q10RTAS > TC MASTER X 5 TDM > Power Dither TDM > PAZ TDM

I would like to know what was the gear, recording style, and studio were used on the first two police records . Thanks in advance

I'm mixing a Harcore Band at the moment and I mixed tha Guitars just like they are. I mean dry. What do you think of adding a kind o room or something like that?

I've never had a chance to use one of these things, so i'm not sure what the effect actually sounds like. i do have an Aphex Aural Exciter (Type C) and think i understand it's principles of operation. (synthesizing harmonics)

over next weekend i am having a long band rehersal/jam type thing that i would like to record, but with very limited resouces. would it be possible to get a good sound just putting up a couple of sm58 style mics around the room and press record... or is that a bit optamistic?
