Has anyone tried the following pres: Brent Averill's 1073, Chandler LTD-1, ams-neve's 1073, Aurora gtq2 or the 5012 portico?

Royer SF-24 + Millennia or Paintpot
Opinions on best preamp match for Royer24 ribbon mic,
for recording classical ensembles in a wide variety of situations.
I've been thinking Millennia HV3D or Crookwood Paintpot.
Also curious as to hear Ben's comparison of the Pacifica preamp
to these ones.

Royer sf 12 stereo mic, any use in classical recordings ?
Another one out for sale. A decent price (half new). Are they useable and then for what?

Coles 4038 vs. . Royer R-122?
I am ready to add a ribbon mic to my home studio arsenal and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had an opportunity to a/b the Coles 4038 vs a Royer R-122.
I am interested to record acoustic instrumental music (my main instrument is dobro and Weissenborn guitar) with this microphone.

Royer R-121 shockmount
Do the Royer R-121's come with an adapter so they fit on normal mic stands? My Royer shockmount doesn't fit on normal stands and I can't remember if one was shipped along with the shockmount

Royer R-121 mic preamp question?
I have been thinking about buying a new mic lately as i haven't exactly gotten great tones from my current ones, a sm57 and an at3035. sometimes they are okay, but i keep hearing great things about the r-121. my question is, would this mic make a major difference in my sound even though i am using an mbox(which i love, but it may not necessarily have the best preamps).

So far unhappy with Royer R-121 Ribbon mic. just me?
Hey guys, just picked up a Royer R-121 mostly for elec gTRS and so far I'm pretty unimpressed. Anyone else have this experience? Now, I have only used it for a very short time so I havn't got to experiment much. (that's my disclaimer) I had a band in today doing elec gtr and percussion overdubs and the Royer got the boot on all the percusion and some elec parts.
ATM, Studio Projects, Shure, AEA, Royer, Lawson or Neumann?
I've been searching for a new vocal mic that will be less bright, more detailed, and has more depth and character than my C1.
Royer vs. . . AEA Ribbon Mics?
Hi,
I am looking into picking up either a Royer R-121 or an AEA R84 ribbon mic to use mainly on electric guitars - but versatility is always good. Has anyone tried the two side by side? Does anyone have any insights on the similarities/differences?
Thanks!
Ryan
