Description

Sampling in music involves taking a section of audio from another source – in this instance, an existing song – and then reworking it into the creation of a new track. Some ill-informed musicians have described it as blatant, shameless plagiarism, but this is an ignorant view point to take.

Is There a Way.. Sampling/Editing Question

hey everyone,

is there a way to take a sample (bass, drums, piano melody) and extract the bass line..? ive been trying to fiddle around with low pass filters on the eq, and I'm getting pretty close to removing the excess (the melody, etc), but it seems that the bass is losing some of its flavor. any help and suggestions would be great. thanks.

Vinyl sampling

I was just wondering if there were any other fellow crate diggers in the forum to discuss sampling techniques.

My current sample set up is Shure M447 cart, Vestax PDX2000 turntable, Rane TTM56 mixer into a Delta 1010 soundcard. I record into Nuendo (It has a crisper sound than soundforge to my ears).

Anyone else into this?

Mic for Sampling?

Good Day Folk's,

I am looking to get a mic for sample recording for use while I am out and about using my laptop.

The price range is between $250 and $350.

It would be great if I could find something that is versitile for other stuff in the studio or live recording.
