The challenge I'm having here is finding a great sounding, versatile mic preamp for under $1k. I'd prefer a channel strip - but to find one of high quality under $1k may be difficult. Also, I'm fine with a single channel - but if there's a great item with 2 or more - that would great too. Anyone have any suggestions? Here are a few auctions that ended on eBay recently.

well Like the topic says I'm going to be building a studio for my band this summer, and i've been experimenting a lot right now with just recording myself playing guitar. but I'm on a tight budget, i have 2000$ and a Custom built computer that i know will be able to handle anything right now. but anyways I'm looking for good equipment that you guys recommend.
I want to build my own miniature studio for recording/mixing, and I would like to ask you some questions about my gear selection. The mixes are supposed to be broadcasted, so the should have pretty good quality (not hoping or going for too much, as here in Romania most bands' mixes are BAD by western standards, so it's not so critical having excellent mixes; also cash shortage is a problem).
I am a writer/rapper/producer/engineer/studio oowner. I have numerous songz I have done and sold with no contracts at all.
In the last few months things have happened that were "eye openers". I am no longer releasing recordings,beats, any production without a contract.

I've always recorded my riffs, my ideas, EVERYTHING. And Its been great just have an okay computer, an okay mic that came with my computer, and an okay sound card. But I want to do a little upgrade. Okay, it might be more than little. But I want to buy some equipment I can use to get some high quality audio on a budget. Here is what I was looking at, and I'm thinking about investing.
