One of the two places that I contacted about a possible un-paid internship was Studio Chicago.
I just got the phone call right now and was told that they won't consider me for two reasons:
1. I have a home studio and it's a conflict of interest
2. I don't have a degree in audio
can someone give me some input on which studio are good for home recording? My drummer and I are trying to mix drums, guitar and vocals in a small room and need to cancel out the sound as best we can.
Hi, i'm working in a small studio and have the following setup:
1 x 16 tr fostex recorder
1 x 8 tr fostex recorder
1 x Mackie 24x8 bus analog desk
1 x Mackie 24 channel extension
with some external compressors, fx, etc
This decision would be based on SNR, internal computer noise isuues, A/D D/A converters (new 192's seem overkill and unproven), ins & outs, preamps , overall value/reliability, solid construction, and whatever else you all would care to add. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I'm new here and new to setting up a recording studio. I've been spending my time mostly in the big studios in the Bay Area. It would save me so much money to just setup my own studio geared for just tracking vocals. I can track the band there, mix on SSL, master there too. I'd like to track in my own place and maybe do some tuning too. The big studios run HD.
I've have a set of JBL S38II Studio Monitors, how well do these work for mixing monitors? I'm new to home recording, I bought the JBLs awhile back for my home stereo, thinking I might also make use of them for home recording. They are suppose to have a flat response, they do sound great with my stereo.
ive decided too start a home recording studio somthing that i can eventually charge money to do. ive been doing a ton of research the last few weeks, but still have a very vague idea of waht i need to get started i have $10000(CDn) to spend this is kindof what ive budgeted for and am looking at
I'm very new to recording anythong on a computer, and I got Cool edit 2000 with the studio plugin . It records fine, but when i go to record a second track while the first one plays, the timing gets messed up. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

a friend of mine has a aardvark pro q10, he says its a very good card, i need suggestions if there are any other choices that lie in the budget i have.
