i'm just curious, as i'm about to make my first investment in an outboard compressor (distressor). how do you guys record the settings of your analon gear, so you can recall it later.

obviously you are writing it down, but is there some kinda special tracks list/ gear settings template i should know about. something to stay really organized?

Hi guys ive just got my computer (PC) to recognise my ff800 but I'm getting no sound out of it. Could someone please offer me their settings for their ff800 as in windows sound settings and total mix inputs and outputs and so on.

This is my first time away From PT and its sh*tloads harder to setup PLEASE HELP.

so in pro tools le for mac, what would one need to do in order to create a preset plugin effect that when it is altered, changes for all the different projects? i want to be able to have my eq for intance, change for all the drum tracks if i alter it and not have to got into each one and fix it. get it?

I ordered the mentioned sound card recently (due to come in any day now!) and have been reading the manual to keep me busy until it comes. I purchased the sound card to receive my condensers (MXL 990/991 Set) and serve as an A/D device. The condensers require phantom power (obviously!), so I purchased a phantom power device (ARTcessories Phantom II) to power the mics.

As I understand it the +4 db "pro" trim level is made for the purpose of driving higher signal level over line level interfaces for the obvious reason that the noise induced in a long connector will be lower by comparison. Makes sense.

I am a new user with the Alesis Masterlink, and need some help understanding how to get to ( and change as needed ) the
" Gain" settings on the Masterlink. Why? Well, whatever I record on my Yamaha Pro 9000 Keyboard to the Masterlink ( then making a CD ), is so low in volume that it is almost impossible to hear on any other system.
