Playback quiet when redording in soundforge

Hey there all. I'm new to this sort of stuff and i jus wondered if i could have a little advice. I'm using Sony soundforge 7 and say when i try record something from a CD or windows media player it sounds really quiet when i play it back either in soundforge or in windows mp. it seems to help if i turn my speakers up to full but its still to quiet.

Soundforge?

hello, I was wondering what you all do with it.
I know its used for editing waves, but I would like to know excatly what you can do with it and why not use the editing tools that comes with in the software like Logic. Pro Tools etc.

And is there any god tutorials on the web about SoundForge?

Wanna know if its worth look into.

Thanks for your answers :)

Sound Forge 6.0 Beta

Sonic Foundry has just released a new version of Sound Forge, version 6.0 (beta only right now). I still use Sound Forge periodically, but have migrated mostly over to Wavelab. Here is a quick summary from Sonic Foundry...(Notice that they still haven't added any new CD burning capabilities to replace CD Architect...) Nothing that looks too impressive to me...
