Curious to the thoughts on SSL going into live audio market.

hey all. there's a good possibility the studio i work at is going to be getting an ssl e-series, a 2" tape machine, and a 1/4" mastering deck. I've been mulling over some different ways of incorporating these into our daw system (digital performer/apogee/motu).

Looking at adding another 2-bus comp to my chain. I'm going to get them both sooner or later but just wanted to hear some opinions. Please chime in and share your experiences on either of these.

Sharing joy. Man, I love this thing! The SSL X-Patch works great. Its not a cheap solution but its transparent and slick. 3 would be nice with the Neos but that's friken expensive. Slow and steady

The automation on the SSL looks pretty dated to me but I understand the love of a big desk and access right in front of me. Classic example of we get used to what we are familiar with and sometimes even blind to other technology. He lost me on the recall. Most DAW's and a hybrid rig, for the most part will kick this gem out of the arena. Yes, no, maybe so?
