Mic Stands for $1000?
I don't get it, why would anyone pay that much for a mic stand? Because it has a counterbalance and noiseless wheels? Anyone ever heard of sandbags and WD-40?

Mic Stands and Booms
Little by little, I'm discarding some of my more budget brands of mic stands and replacing them.
I own one Hercules stand (tall boom), and two Atlas booms.
The eazy adjustment of the Hercules is nice, as is the Atlas counterweight for my 414s, Bluebird, and other heavy/oversized mics.

Can I modify PA stands to be Monitor stands?
Hello, I'm a another ignorant noob with a question, but I promise one day I won't be a noob anymore.
I have a pair of Samson TS50 Tripod PA speaker Stands and I'd like to know if I can adjust the heads to place my pair of BEHRINGER Truth B2031A Studio Monitors.

Snare stands and general drum hardware
My wife wants another snare stand to practice with. It's not like this is a moving part or anything, so I may just go with something relatively cheap. But I hate cheap hardware, so I thought I would fish for comments on a good snare stand. Throw in other comments about who makes the best drum hardware: cymbal stands, HH, kick pedals, etc.

Mic Stands - Small footprint for a heavy mic?
I have been putting my RODE K2 on a [url=link removed A50[/url]. I noticed on another thread someone calling the K2 a "boat anchor" and I quite agree. The A50 does a great job keeping the K2 nice and stable, but it takes up a lot of real estate in my small studio. Does anyone have a suggestion for a stand with a smaller footprint that's still pretty stable.
Unobstrusive Choir Mic Stands?
Hello,
More and more I feel the need for close Micing Choirs with four microphones across the front. For this purpose, I am looking for an unobstrusive microphone stand. This will be mostly for concert situations, so it has to look neat and can not be too bulky.

Stands, clips, clamps for Micing drums.
I'm getting tired of several of my cheap/makeshift stands - particularly those I'm using for Micing drums. I have good stands for overheads and vocal mics, but most of the stands for getting into hard to reach places and old cheap stands that I've hacksawed and jerry-rigged. Time to buy something good and sturdy.

Converting Light Stands to Mic Stands
Ben, you in particular I've seen mention that you use tall light stands for microphone stands. I want to do that as well--but not before I know how to adapt the 5/8" threads to 5/8"-27 (standard) microphone stand threads. How do you do it?

current tall stands that are not too much $$$ ?
I kinda wish the Calumet 053B was still available, but it's discontinued, isn't it? Anyway, I need 2 or 3 stands that are at least 17 feet tall, maybe 18 feet (choir loft issue). They can be lightweight. Any thoughts?
