so I now have the M-Audio SBx.. hooked up from DAC-1 to the mackies.

whn nothing is playin.. i hear a humming noise now thru the satellites(Mackie HR824's).

how can I eliminate this is why is it here?

I'm looking for a good sub to use with Yamaha MSP5's. I wan't some really accurate, someone usable for mastering (although my room ain't jet).

I'll have to confess I don't have a clue what to look for in subs... I've only been looking at monitors until now.

So i'm in a smal project studio, and it probably goes without saying that it's not the most sonically balanced room in the world, but I am using HR824's and i just purchased the 1280 Mackie sub that goes with it. I love the sound of those monitors and the sub sounds great with them, but I have heard/read that I shouldn't mix with the sub on unless i'm mixing 5.1 (which I am not.)

It's a 100w 6" powered sub. The amp seems to be blown. Is there any use I can put this thing to in a psuedo studio environment? Was thinking about building a sub mic. can anyone help?

Sorry I'm such a noob, but is there a simple way to add subsonic frequencies for a bass guitar, so that one doesn't hear them (as subsonic implies, heh), but rather feels them? Or am I in need of a special plugin /hardware to accomplish this task?

so I'm looking at getting the KLIPSCH PROMEDIA 2.1 PC MULTIMEDIA SPEAKER SYSTEM for my computer to use for just computer sounds and then use my monitors for mixing.

as of now i have my mbox hooked into my two monitors. the speakers that come on the new imacs are just crap and so i need to get some computer speakers. my two monitors could use a sub and I'm try to figure how i can incorporate a 2.1 system with the monitors. ( just the sub). bad idea?
