SPL MixDream analog DAW summing
Okay, I'm taking the high road. After so much reading this past year on analog summing amps, then finally listening to some samples, its definitely what I need. This unit takes that ITB closet sound (I've been going nuts trying to overcome) and opens your mix up into a warm fat sound. No wonder they call it MixDream.

Summing mixer
Hey,
I admit, I'm not fully up to snuff with it all yet. I'm still trying to understand what I should keep from the old days and what I should be adding.
My DAW setup is getting close to operation. Its not an easy process working this site, having a family and another job all at the same time, but I'm getting there, crawling or not!

analog summing question for users using analog summing
are you guys using an external recording device, such as a mixdown high quality CD burner or mastering hard drive based device, or just sending the output back into your computer to be recorded to a new stereo track?
Line/Summing Mixer ideas (Speck v. Dangerous)
Hey guys -
I'm in the market for a line/summing mixer so that, while I'm doing location recordings, I can take 2 feeds from the pre - 1 going into the DAW discretely, the other set going to a summing box, into a nice AD and then into a 2 track recorder (for both back up or straight-to-2-track mixing).

Summing Amps - what do they do?
I've just added the TUBE TECH SSA 2B summing amp to the Pro Shop. I would like to use this topic as a reference.
What are some great examples of what a summing amp does?

Summing - In theBox or out?
Summing - In theBox or out? Any strong feelings one way or the other ?
And I'm wondering if summing at higher(than 48kz) might be benificial as it might allow for fewer rounding issues when converting back to 44.1kz as only the final sample would be affected, not each individual(pre-summed) sample .
This is making my head hurt...

Summing up low frequencies
Hey guys,
I'm interested in the mechanics of summing up low frequencies of a mix during mastering (lower than 50Hz) to a narrower signal. How is this done by a mastering engineer?
Thanks in advance

Analog Summing Boxes
I've been reading a lot of great things about analog summing boxes on the back end of Pro Tools rigs. I'm wandering if anybody out there has any advice about which one to buy. I know of the AMS Neve 8816 summing mixer and the Dangerous 2-bus. If anybody out there has experience with these boxes or any other summing boxes, I would love to hear from you.
Thanks,
Benny
