Tascam USB 428...record button not working!

After many years of bitching about this Tascam nightmare...cause it has always been unpredictable in nature. Last night I wanted to record some tracks and found out the record button will not start my Cubase SX to recording. I can get Cubase to record only by clicking the record button on SCREEN. The other buttons REW..F FWD..STOP..PLAY work on the controller 428. Wonder what the deal is.

Tascam Tmd8000

Hello I recently aquired a tmd8000 and iam very excited a beautiful machine. Okay, i have a prottols mix 24 system and i was told that i should just use the mixer to monitor and not to let any A/D conversion go of in the Yamaha 8000 and just to mix in Pro Tools. Is the quality of sound coming out of the Tascam below quality.

MCU or Tascam US 2400

Well the price of the 25 fader US2400 just went down to 800 bucks. I was thinking of getting the Mackie but if you add it up with the 2 extenders you need to get 25 faders its 2100 bucks. Can anyone here who is using these with PT LE help me justify spending the extra 1300.00 for the mackie? I dont think so. And I have had good luck with other Mackie boards. hanks a heap.

Tascam 24 track

I have recently aquired a Tascam 24 track set up. the gear is an m3700 desk, a msr 24s analog tape machine and a rack with looms and a bantam jackfield with a Tascam headphone amp rack. I haven't plugged it all in yet to see what its running order is yet, and I haven't any manuals for any of the gear. The desk would be useful. I also got 4 new Ampex 456 reels and about 15 used ones.
