Hi, I use a 001 system with a 9600 g3 400 mhz card with 512 ram. To get my material to sound the way I would like. I find myself mixing on a tdm system. This usually costs me a few hundred dollars. I would like to upgrade to a mix plus. What I need is at least 32 tracks with a decent amount of plugins. What exactly do I need? Do I have to use an 882 even if I have a rosetta.?

There seems to be a bit of confusion over whether anything has changed with mix bus and if it will sound better. I've gone over the docs in quite a bit of detail and here is what I've garnered:

Not a Logic user, just curious, isn't it supposed to be able to use PT i/o and dsp? Anyone running TDM's in Logic? Anything you'd like to say about the experience? How do they work when used with native (or UA or TC card boosted) plugins?

Can someone explain me the differences (hardware and power) between TDM 24, Mix, Mix Plus and the new one I think is Mix 3 or something similar...

I have a TDM8000 desk which I love and am running the automation software on a PC which works great. My question is...do you know if anyone at all, anywhere in the world is writing any software updates for this? The PC version seems to have less features than the Mac version and it would be cool to get an update :) I have version 1.1

Sony is releasing 2 new plugins for TDM systems.

1 is the Oxford EQ straight out of the Oxford console and 1 is the Oxford GML 8200 EQ. .FABULOUS!

Digidesign needs to jump on the 2001 boat and allow us PC users our due. A 1 Ghz processer (with lots of RAM) can do just about anything a TDM system can do. Why are they so against making a system like this, hell the software is what $4K street price, they would BE CONNECTING WITH A WHOLE LEVEL OF MARKET THAT THEY HAD NOT PREVIOUSLY TOUCHED YET.

I do most of my recording and mixing to and from the Tascam MX2424. I use Samplitude to edit the tracks just like Pro Tools and send the edited tracks digitally back to the Tascam.
