I am pulling my hair out on this one: I desire to monitor a track in Cubase directly, not via my fireface 800 & Totalmix so that I can record with plugins if desired.

Which one do you prefer?

Since there are so many of us using the RME FireFace 800, I'm thinking it would be a great idea for us to discuss the advantages and tips on how we use TotalMix.

What are the coolest totalmix features?

How do you use it for custom monitor mixes?

UPS should be delivering this to me tomorrow. I bought for the reputed stabilty with Cubase and the top shelf converters. I am counting on a significant upgrade from the M-Audio Quatro currently in service. The piece I am intrigued with is the total mix software. Anyone using this that could offer up some possibilities for its use? I don't know a lot about it.

Does anyone here use the RME TotalMix for summing his Logic (or Cubase/Nuendo) tracks? I've heard from someone who said he had better results than with the logic mixer. In theory it could be, since the totalmix has a 40 bit resolution, whereas the logic mixer is 32 bit...

The "potentialy" excellent program TotalMix that comes bundled with RME soundcards really needs a better explanation of it's usage.
